As part of the Grand Opening Celebration of BankPark YOKOHAMA, the Old Noritake Exhibition held in Yokohama from October 4 concluded successfully on October 19.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who visited the exhibition and joined us for the talk events held several times during the period.

Celebrating the Grand Opening of BankPark YOKOHAMA

On October 4, 2025 (Sat.), BankPark YOKOHAMA, a new
cultural exchange facility housed in a Yokohama City–
designated historic building, will open its doors.

To commemorate the grand opening, the gallery space on the first floor will host a special Old Noritake Exhibition and Sale from October 4 (Sat.) to October 19 (Sun.), 11:00–18:00.

Old Noritake porcelain first crossed the seas from Yokohama in the Meiji era, carrying Japan’s artistry to the West where it quickly gained acclaim. Characterized by its pure white porcelain body and elaborate hand-painted decorations, Old Noritake was crafted for export at a time when Western-style tableware was none in Japan. Today, it is celebrated worldwide for its artistry and continues to captivate collectors and enthusiasts alike.

The exhibition will feature museum-quality pieces as well as items available for purchase, including tea sets, vases, and decorative objects reflecting design trends from the Victorian era through Art Nouveau to Art Deco. This is a rare opportunity to witness the elegance of Old Noritake returning to Yokohama more than a century later. In addition, our curator Tomoaki Takeuchi—a leading Old Noritake researcher and one of Japan’s foremost collectors—will hold a series of ten talk events during the exhibition period.
