He strengthened the region’s economic and social foundations through agricultural development and infrastructure projects. Additionally, he promoted culture and arts, contributing to the prosperity of Takasaki during his rule.
- Artisan/Designer: Eiju Shimizu, renowned for his expertise in crafting intricate Ito-jime dolls.
- Unique Craftsmanship: The Ito-jime doll is a unique type of doll created using a technique devised by the late master doll maker Jusaburo Tsujimura.
- Production Method/material:The head and torso are crafted using tenjiku fabric (a type of cotton fabric) filled with wood wool. The doll is dressed in garments made from authentic kimono fabric, ensuring a unique and traditional aesthetic.

・These dolls are crafted using repurposed kimono fabric and should be handled with the same care as traditional kimonos.
・Avoid exposing the doll to humidity and ultraviolet rays whenever possible.
・For stains or dirt on the kimono fabric, we recommend gently dabbing the affected area with benzine and allowing it to dry.
・Benzine can also be used on the face and hands, which are made of chirimen fabric.
・If the doll sustains any damage, please contact us for assistance.
