【Accent furniture series】 Year of production: 2025 Material: Paulownia wood, lacquer Color: green
This accent bench is crafted in a slightly smaller form but made with the same careful techniques used for full-sized chairs. Assembled without nails or screws using traditional hozo-gumi joinery, it is finished with a coat of Japanese lacquer. In addition to serving as a unique interior accent, it can also be used as a display stand for seasonal ornaments, incense containers, or flowers.

This piece is thoroughly coated with durable Japanese lacquer (urushi), making it suitable for everyday use.
You can wipe it with a damp cloth for regular cleaning, and it’s perfectly fine to place a vase or other decorative items on the top surface.
Lacquer is often misunderstood as fragile, but in fact, it is a highly durable finish.
Since this piece does not feature delicate decorations like maki-e (gold or silver powder inlay), it is especially well-suited for practical use while still offering the beauty of traditional craftsmanship.
