This elegant chest features a straight-grain wood pattern with a subtle striped appearance, enhanced by a soft, rounded form and tall legs that give it a charming presence. The top is covered with fabric for added durability, making it ideal for use as a decorative display shelf as well.
The drawers are lined with lightweight Japanese paulownia wood, known for its moisture control and gentle protection of stored items. The second and third drawers can accommodate A4-size paper, offering both beauty and functionality.
The handles are crafted from ebony, and the legs are made of walnut. The entire piece is finished using a traditional Japanese technique called fuki-urushi (wipe-lacquering), in which raw lacquer is repeatedly applied and wiped off to accentuate the natural wood grain. This method enhances both the durability and the deep, organic luster of the surface.
